Texas Holdem usually starts with two players. These players are called small and large blinds. Bets are placed in this game. Their structures vary. The first two players start with pre-set bets. These bets are called as posting the blinds.
Players are given two cards each. Cards are given facing down preventing the other players from seeing them. These are the unique cards and are called as pocket cards.
When each player has dealt with his cards, starting with the player left with two blinds betting takes place. This round is known as Pre-Flop. Any player can call the fold's raising during his turn just like all other poker games.
After this round, Burn Card takes place. This means that after the round Pre-Flop is over, the dealer will remove the uppermost card from the deck. This is done to check if someone is cheating or not. Now the dealer will place three cards on the table showing them. This round is known as Flop. Now with the help of these three cards, without touching, any player can make a combination of five of his best cards. That is where, the importance of hole cards lies.
Now another round of betting will start. Now you will start seeing the players fold their cards. It is just similar to the Pre-Flop.
Dealer will again burn a card after the betting ends and then deal a communal card. This card is known as Turn card.
Now the betting will start again. The dealer will again burn a card before showing the last card of Texas Heldom. This last card is known as River card. Now all the players are able to make a combination of five best cards out of their communal and hole cards.
Now for the last time, players have the chance to leave the game or bet. Afterwards, players show their sets of cards. This process is called as Showdown. The winner is the one who have the set of best cards out of all other sets; and he wins the pot which should have grown enough by now.
